Précis
The problem addressed in this work is how to support frequent stakeholder reviews of product GUIs during the course of agile or hybrid development. To better find inconsistencies between specified and demonstrated GUI behaviors, the authors proposed to show stakeholders GUI videos supplemented with a video connection graph. The authors implemented this approach using established agile GUI tests integrated into the method of Behavior Driven Development.
Experimental results showed that “(1) videos seem to help stakeholders find inconsistencies in the demonstrated software that do not match the given requirements and (2) videos and a connection graph of the videos seem to help stakeholders recognize inconsistencies easily and understand demonstrated functionalities extensively.”
The use of GUI videos supplemented with video connection graphs may be particularly useful when feedback is sought from stakeholders who are not the end users of a system or in projects that involve remote workers or distributed teams.
